PLD BAND FUNDRAISING
The quality band program that we have come to expect from Dunbar is expensive. The Band receives very minimal financial support from the Fayette County Board of Education. Fundraising efforts by the Band Parents Association (BPA) and the members of the band provide the necessary funds to support the Band’s activities. The entire band program at PLD benefits from these funds, which are used to pay for such things as sheet music, instruments and instrument repair, other equipment, uniforms, instruction, and other administrative support. In addition, the funds raised by the PLD Band Parents Association pays for all transportation to assessments and contests and off-campus performances, food, lodging at contests, entry fees, and award patches.
CALENDAR FUNDRAISER
KHSAA State Competition at the end of October, so as we work towards the State Championship we will also have a "Calendar Fundraiser." Here's how it works. Each student in the band will be given a calendar to fill out. They will find donors to pick one or more days of the month, with the date(s) being the amount that will they will donate. For example, October 1st is $1, October 15th is $15, etc. A completed month is $496.
Each student is required to participate. The first two students to turn in a completed calendar can choose between a band jacket or a $100 gift card as a prize.. The remaining students to turn in a completed calendar will be entered into a raffle for a band jacket or a $100 gift card. Checks should be written to PLD Band Parents Association. Payment can also be made via Venmo to @pldband. Please put "calendar fundraiser" in the comments. Parents can buy out this fundraiser for $496.
Calendars are due on Friday, November 4th. Calendars and donations should be turned into the red box.
Friends, family, co-workers are great people to ask for donations. If you attend a church, temple, mosque or other house of worship, ask them for help completing the calendar. Social media and work chat rooms (Slack, Teams, Webex, etc.) are easy places to advertise the calendar fundraiser and ask for donations.

All fundraising activities are for the ENTIRE BAND. We all benefit from the funds raised because we get our music, instrument repairs, buses, uniforms, and so much more from these funds. All we ask is that everyone do their best and participate to help support the band.

PLD Band receives money when you use your Kroger Plus card IF you have registered it with our account. Go to krogercommunityrewards.com and create your online account, add your plus card number and enter our organization (10087). Then we will earn money every time you shop!
